The Provident Midstream group receives Bill of Lading (BOL) documents electronically via email and fax. BOL documents are considered a record of transaction and they contain critical business data which is used in a number of related processes. The project implemented a document imaging, extraction and data integration solution.
The solution automatically processes email attachments and monitors an import file location. Once processed, the extracted document data and the original document image are stored in the enterprise content management system. The ECM system provides centralized search and retrieval, viewing, security and additional system integration and reporting features.
